Steel shipping containers are available in numerous configurations. From modifications that make it easier to store boxes, to customizations that allow you to keep the humidity under control, the options are abundant. Shelving

Add shelving to your cargo container to maximize your storage space. Shelving brackets can be positioned according to your needs, allowing you the depth and height you need for storing documents boxes, boxes or home goods, and even electronics. Special brackets can be installed to hold PVC pipe, brass piping, or sticks of conduit.

Extra Security

Shipping containers can accommodate many types of locking systems. Use a hasp lock, bar lock, container lock box, inner bolt, or crossbar for various levels of security.

Additional Doors

If one door doesn’t give you the access you need, customize the shipping container by adding a second door:

  • Add an additional standard size container door to the back or side of the unit for easier loading.
  • You can also add a single door: approximately 3’ x 6.75’, these doors are smaller than a standard door and allow easy entrance and exit.
  • Add a double door (6’ x 6.75’) to allow additional room for carrying large items without opening the main loading door.

Venting

Container Venting

Proper ventilation is important, particularly for any items that would suffer due to a buildup of heat or humidity. Add extra side vents or roof vents to permit heat and humidity to escape without allowing inclement weather inside.

Windows

Sliding windows are available for cargo containers. Security bars can also be added to the windows for protection from entrance in the event of glass breakage. Windows are a nice customization as they allow natural light as well as additional air flow. This is particularly convenient when a shipping container might be used for retail sales, emergency space, or on construction sites where daily access to materials is needed.
